Is the AMD PHY also compatible with core?

Hello,

In the Ethernet core's "Ethernet IP Core Design Document" it states that
the
Ethernet PHY module simulates simplified Intel LXT971A PHY chip.
Is this compatible with the AM79C874 PHY chip?
That's the chip we have on our board.

Thanks,

Hi. When we talk about the compatibility here, it is meant that the register scheme is the same as in the Intel LXT971A PHY chip. And that's it. MIIM interface can work with all chips, also AMD. But zou have to address different registers. Regards, Igor On 3/16/2004, "Conrad, Linda A" ConraLA@LOUISVILLE.STORTEK.COM> wrote:
